Does Stress Cause Hair Loss And A Red Rash On The Cheek?

MY 19 year old grand daughter is having a problem with hair loss and she also has a red rash on her cheek but it dries and peels. She s recently lost her mom, her dad has been deceased and she started college. I thought it was possibly stress related but i m not so sure. its not all the time but its episodes that come and than after weeks go. At 19 of course appearance is everything so i suggested a blood test to see if there was a vitamin deficiency . thank you, YYYY@YYYY

Hello,

As per your case history, you are suffering from hair fall and Rosacea.

My treatment advice is:
1. Avoid sun exposure and use a good sunscreen lotion with SPF more than 30.
2. Apply a clindamycin gel like Glocin twice daily on face.
3. Take an iron supplement and vitamin B12 supplement once daily for 3 months.

If the problem persists, then consult a dermatologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Harshit Bhachech
