Does Stress Cause Raised Blood Pressure And Headache?

I haven't had high bp for a year. I have been having headaches lately, took my pressure. It is 157/85! Can extreme stress cause this? I have been good on weight and eating. I also do cleaning all day, should I be worried about stroking out before I can see a doctor!

I read your question and I understand your concern.
Finding yourself in a situation of extreme stress could temporarily raise your blood pressure. That is why blood pressure measurements have recommendations like that it should be measured after 5 minutes of rest in a seated position, not having taken caffeine containing beverages in the preceding 30 minutes.
If under these measurement conditions there are repeatedly high blood pressure values (at least 3 times) then it is necessary to see your physician for evaluation and to start treatment. Of course if there are accompanying chronic anxiety issues they should be addressed as well and if necessary treatment be prescribed.
I hope to have been of help.
