Does Swelling On The Head From A Fall Need Medical Attention?

Hi Doctor, My wife; she is 25 and fell on the side walk ice. Her right side forehead is swollen....no bleeding or any headache or any other symptoms. she is saying light pain in the forehead where it was swollen. It happened 7 hours ago. she is using the ice for the swollen forehead. I am worried Doctor. Do I have to take her to doctor's office tomorrow? any scan or X-ray must me done? is there anything else I have to concern about doctor?

Thank you Doctor.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
It depends, wether she got loss of consciousness soon after injury.Or swelling is increasing more than than before, or if she is having brain injury symptoms, like confusion, dizziness, vertigo, blurred vision, and severe headache.
From your wife's history it seems less likely that she needs emergency medical care. But still you may get Xray skull done to rule out any penetrating injury.
