Does Swimming Several Times Cause Fever?

My son is 4 and he was swimming in a lake several times last week. On Wednesday night he spiked a fever of 104 and two days later his body temp was down around 96. Tonight again his body temp is low around 96. He is showing no other symptoms of illness. Should we be worried?

Hello

Thanks for query

Fever could be because of an infection. Lakes are known to be a good medium for growth of several species of bacteria. I strongly recommend you use a chlorinated swimming pool instead. Fever of 104 might require treatment with antibiotics, please approach your physician soon

I hope I was of help

Regards
