Does Swollen Face And Pain Between Gums And Cheek Indicate Abscess?
I was wondering if I have an abscess? My left side of my face is swollen and there s major pain between my gums and cheek. My left lip is crucked when I smile. I can t even sleep because of the pain. I have hot flashes and fevers. My major concern would have to be the swelling. My glasses can t even go on right. There s throbbing involved.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain it seems that pain between gum and cheek with crucked lip and hot flashes and fever can be due to severe tooth infection if you have a decayed tooth while it can also be due to Cellulitis.. I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician or a General Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly.. A course of antibiotics like Augmentin, anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen, steroid injection can help.. If pain is severe narcotic painkiller like Tramadol is advisable.. As of now you can start taking Ibuprofen to relieve pain and also do cool compresses..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
