Does Takin Acetaminophen And Tylenol Together Cause Confusion?

what are the long term effects on a body when one takes acetaminophen tablets such as Tylenol every night ? My husband takes Tylenol sleep every night and is drowsy in the daytime; seems confused. He has taken them for years now. Melatonin seems to have no effect on him.

Hello! Welcome to HealthcareMagic!

The drowsiness in the morning is due to the residual effect of the Tylenol sleep. It contains an antihistamine to induce sleeping. Drowsiness can be associated with confusion in some persons. It would be best to either reduce the dose or reduce the frequency of use of these medications since he is having day time symptoms. Sleep hygiene techniques may help with any sleeping issues that he may have. I hope this helps.

Hope this clarifies your concerns. Thank you for the query.

Take care

Regards,
