Does Taking Cortisone Injections Cause Voice Hoarseness?

After neck and chest scans to try to find out why I have had hoarseness for over 4 months with no results, I read about cortisone injections causing this problem. I have been getting cortisone injections in both shoulders for over a year. Is there a treatment to help me get over this after stopping the injections? Thank you.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

If the hoarseness is solely related to the medication then the symptoms should start to improve once you stop using it (not taking the next shot).

There are other causes such as post nasal drip (which can sometimes be silent), reflux, trauma, over use of the voice, smoking.

Using a topical steroid nasal spray to treat a possible post nasal drip may help to reduce your symptoms.

I hope this helps
