Does Taking Cymbalta Cause Rise In Blood Sugar Level?
I am a Type 2 diabetic. I was recently prescribed Cymbalta for pain relief. (I also have sciatica and lumbar stenosis). The Cymbalta helps with my pain, but it has also sent my blood sugar high (20s). Will this go away, how long will it take, and can my kidneys take it? Or should I just get off the Cymbalta? YYYY@YYYY . Canada.
Cymbalta can be associated with increased blood sugars in some persons.
This effect may not decrease with continued use.
The options would be to alter your diabetic medication for control or switch to an alternative to cymbalta if the blood sugars continue to be elevated. If there is no improvement after 4 to 6 weeks may need to consider one of these options.
I hope this helps
