Does Taking Donepezil And Memantine Together Cause Poor Memory?

My wife has been taking Donepezil 10 mg. and Memantine 20 mg. daily for 9 years. She dropped her Hgb. to 8.2 mg. All the tests blood,. occult blood etc have been normal. She has no other symptom, except impaired but stable memory impairment. Could this be related to these 2 medications?

Hello,

Donepezil can cause anemia in a very small group of people that is 0.1% to 1% (1 out of 1000 to 1 out of 100).

It is not a common cause, so all of the other causes of anemia would need to be ruled out before it is considered.
