Does Taking Lexapro And Buspar Together Cause Serotonin Syndrome?

My husband was on Clonapin for anxiety for about 5 yrs- he also been taking Busbur for about 2 yrs .His new MD wanted him to wean off of the Clonapin He was put on Lexapro a few days ago. He ended up in the ER today with a high heart rate of 155, and they gave him a medicine IV the reset the electrical system, and he is fine. 4 months ago he had a baseline echo cardiogram, that was normal. He is going to follow up with his cardiologist, but my question is in doing some research, it said that Lexapro and Busbur should not be taken together as it could cause serotonin syndrome. What are your thoughts.

In my opinion which is supported by various clinical texts, both escitalopram (lexapro) and bupropion (buspar) should NEVER be combined together. It can have drastic life threatening consequences.

Using the together can increase the risk of a rare but serious condition called the serotonin syndrome, which may include symptoms such as confusion, hallucination, seizure, extreme changes in blood pressure, increased heart rate, fever, excessive sweating, shivering or shaking, blurred vision, muscle spasm or stiffness, tremor, incoordination, stomach cramp, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Severe cases may result in coma and even death.
I hope i have clarified your worries. wish your husband a speedy recovery
Thanks
