Does Taking Lexapro On A Regular Basis Cause Any Side Effects?

I m currently prescribed Lexapro 50mg once daily by my psychiatrist. I ve been on this dose for quite some time. I originally started on 10mg, then 20mg, then 30mg, then 40mg. I was on 40mg for a few months, but still noticed depression and anxiety symptoms. So my doctor upped my dose to 50mg. 50mg works great for me. I just want to know if 50mg is a safe dose to take daily.
