Does Taking Lipitor Cause Elevated ALT Levels?

One month ago I got blood test results and my cholesterol was almost 300. My doctor put me on 10mg of lipitor and I just got new test results I am back in normal range. I have totally changed my diet and lost almost 20 pounds already. She said continue taking the Lipitor for now. But, now my ALT levels are elevated (she didn't say by how much). I will go back for more bloodwork in a month. Should I be concerned about the ALT levels, I've read this is a side effect of Lipitor. Should I continue to take it?
