Does Taking Ofloxacin During Pregnancy Harm The Fetus?

Hi I am 6 weeks and 6 days pregnant, before I have known that I m pregnant . I went to the hospital because I had a UTI and they prescribed me a Ofloxacin and I m just 2 weeks pregnant at that time. What should I do ? Can it be a harm for my baby? I took the medicine twice a day for 7 days. I m so afraid now for my baby

Hi, I think ofloxacin has not been found to be teratogenic in humans, but at a dose 50 times the recommended dose, it was found to be toxic in animal pregnancy. So, it is better to avoid ofloxacin in pregnancy, but it is not proven fetotoxic. You can get a level 2 scan at 18 to 20 weeks to rule out any congenital abnormality.
