Does Taking Utovlan During Periods Stop Bleeding?

I have irregular periods and was given Utovlan to take to delay my period whilst I went on holiday. I was due to start taking it today, because by estimate I was due on sometime next week. However, I have just woken up and found out I have started my period overnight. Will taking the Utovlan now stop the bleeding?
