Does Taking Cortisone Injections Affect The Periods?

I had a cervical spinal epidural yesterday for a herniated disk in the C4-5 area. The paper they sent home stated abnormal menses in women. Last night I started my cycle again and it was less than 2 weeks ago which is not normal for me. Could this be a side effect of the cortisone injected?
