Does Taking Effexor For Sweating During Per-menopause Stage Cause Seizures As A Side Effect?
I was prescribed Effexor to assist the management of sweating during pre-menopause stage and had a number of instant side-effects and within 8 days of use commenced violent seizures, though remained conscious throughout. I discontinued Effexor. I am still having daily seizures with up to 40 per day. I have just been placed on an anti-convulsive, which appears to be working. It has now been 5 months since I took Effexor. Whilst no medical professional will admit Effexor may be the cause of this, I strongly believe it is, as I was an extremely fit and healthy 49 year old taking no medications prior to this. Do you know how long this may continue and what the actual cause is? Many thanks, Tracey
Effexor use has shown to cause an increased blood pressure which ca result in seizures. Please discontinue the medication and report to your doctor immediately.
Hope this helps.
Best wishes.
