Does Teeth Whitener Cause Pimples ?
hi ,fi start to use crest 3d white with some crest ehitestrips treatment and i found after one week that i had some small pimple or bump and one big on my down lips it s natural?

A tooth whitener which is generally hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide reacts with surface stain gently removing them from the outer surface of your teeth. These products may cause an irritation or bumps on the outside of the mouth. If this occurs you may have a sensitivity to the product. Make sure that you don't have any lay on the surface of your skin and keep it on your teeth. Pimples are products of bacterial infections in the pores of your skin. Since these products do not contain pimple causing bacteria, it is unlikely that they would cause these issues.
Irritation, tooth sensitivity to cold, and gingival soreness and signs that too much has been used and have been in contact with other places other than your teeth. Remember that tooth sensitivity caused by whitening agents is temporary and can be relieved with a anti sensitive tooth paste.

I would like to tell you tell you that tooth whitener contains 15% carbamide peroxide which is roughly equal to 5% hydrogen peroxide.Before using these products, a protective layer is applied applied on soft tissue & mucosa to avoid shemical burns to soft tissue.The various associated risks with this method are:-
-chemical burn
-overbleaching
-sensitivity to hot & cold
But it can not cause pimple.Still precautionary you need to avoid contact of this cream with skin.Don't go for it regularly because its not that safe.
For further problem consult your dentist.

piimples usually arise due to deposition of impurities on skin which will close the pores on facial skin.thus it results in more sebum production by sebaceous glands thus pimples arise.
teeth whiteners has nothing to do with pimple production.
the whiteners are usually combination of hydrogen peroxide/carbamide/pumice.
any contact of such whiteners with lips/mucosa can cause itching/eczema/rashes /redness on mucosa.ther is no chance of pimple production.

You cannot clearly say it as a pimple or a bump !yeah the teeth whitener can cause irritation to the mucosa that is ur lip or even gum one! best thing is to consult your dentist coz he may have to rule out few other diseases with same symptoms ! regards dr aravind
