Could I have leukemia with wbc at 13.2 or is it usually from a infection? I was really bad sick for almost a month before I got antibiotics, finished them 5 days before my blood work. My wbc count was 13.2 & my liver was 144 I think she said. Just wondering haven t heard back on my test. Just a little nervous I guess.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Raised white blood cell counts (WBCs) are seen in leukemias.
However, common cause of raised WBC count are infections.
Thus, along with white blood cell counts, differential leukocyte count is also required.
A repeat WBC count after a course of antibiotic is also required because had the infection been due to bacterial infection, it would have cleared after course of antibiotic.
Bacterial infections are common cause of raised WBC counts.
The possibility of leukemia is low but do post your blood work up report.

Thanks and take care
