Does The Arm Pain With Numbness Need A Hospital Visit?

hi i'm 17. my left arm has been throbbing all week. it stopped and went numb for two days. and today it had a large shooting pain up it. knocking me out for a good ten mins. i had to lean onto the ground and breath heavily until I could stand up again. I have also started smelling burnt toast and hot dogs cooking. I am in my bedroom down stairs though. Everyone is sleeping. It is 12:15am. And my friend who works in the medical feild says I should wake my mother up and go to the hospital. Should I?
