Does The Masturbation On Placenta Previa Have Side Effects On Pregnancy And Does It Cause Miscarriage?

Hi, I am 21 weeks pregnant with Placenta Previa. I have been put on pelvic rest but my doctor says that means no insertion of anything. He tells me I CAN masturbate but everything I read online contradicts each other. I would like to know what effects does masturbation have on placenta previa? Can it cause miscarrige to masturbate with this condition if so how? And most of all how would I know if something is wrong after masturbation?

Hi,
Placenta previa means that your placenta is in the lower uterine segment.So always a threat for bleeding during pregnancy.It depends whether this placenta is just entering the lower uterine segment, or reaching near os or covering the whole os. When you will attempt to masturbate, it may excite uterine contractions and you may go into preterm labour and hence abortion at this gestation.Also the trauma caused by it, may lead on to severe bleeding and chances of abortion.
