Does The Medications For Acne Treatment Causes Redness On The Area Of Pimples?

hii im 18 years old and my dermatalogist suggested me brite cream by wallance and tenovate gn as ointments and xtraglow ,doxt-s tablets for fighnting my acne marks but the problem is that the area's on which im a applying the mixture of ointments is getting reddish is that normal ??

Hello,
Brite cream contains hydroquinone a pigment lightening agent which may cause redness when applied on the inflamed skin (such as acne). Apart from this, tenovate GN is a superpotent steroid cream. I dont recommend the use of this cream on face for purposes of treating acne. It may cause redness in long run (steroid induced rosacea) and variety of other side effects like thinning of skin, depigmentation, aggravation of pimples (steroid induced pimples) etc. Many of these side effects especially thinning of skin are permanent and not reversible once they occur.
