Does The Myocardiopathy Medications Need Any Changes?
hi doctor, my mother is 74 yrs old. She is suffering from mycardiopathy. she is taking nikoran bd, GTN sorbitrate 6.4 mg bd, remipress 5mg bd, mazetol 200 bd, ecospirin with atovastin 75mg od, dytor 5 od, But still facing acute breathlessness. She is also suffering from sciatica pain. Please make the necessary changes in the medicine to make life better.

Her medications and dosage are correct but still she is having breathlessness means her cardiac ( Heart ) function is deteriorating. You didn't mentioned her complete diagnosis , what kind of cardiomyopathy it is ( there are different types ) because if it's Ischemic cardiomyopathy then an angioplasty with stenting might be useful for her .
Also let me know her recent Ejection Fraction ( EF ) , it's a parameter mentioned in 2d ECHO which tells about her heart capacity to pump . If it's low then she may require a drug called Digoxin . Instead of Dytor I advise either Dytor Plus or Aldactone . But you need to consult her treating doctor before making any of these changes .
