Does The Yellow Color Spot On The Stitches Indicate Infection?

I had a mole removed from my stomach area several weeks ago. They took the stitches out about two weeks ago. This morning when I woke up there was a round spot that looked yellow In color where the stitches were. My dog this evening jumped up and scratched me in that spot. It broke the spot open and yellow pus came out of it. It is infected? Is this normal?
