Does Topical Aldara Treatment For Skin Cancer On Hand Cause Eruptions On Abdomen?

My husband just completed his 6th day of topical Aldara treatment for skin cancer on his rt hand. The whole top of his hand has the 1st layer of skin burned off & he s in excruciating pain. He stopped treatment but is now having skin eruptions on his abdomen, his left hand, both forearms & both legs which are beginning to burn. Is it possible the drug has gone systemic? He s been given a steroid shot & a steroid dose-pack which does not seem to be helping. Can you suggest anything else? Thank you, Connie ( YYYY@YYYY )

Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the topical treatment usually does not get systemic absorption in majority of the cases ; however it may happen in rare cases. The rashes over abdomen, limbs are more likely to be related to systemic manifestation of inflammation of malignancy condition more likely. One has to wait for couple of days for steroid shots and medicines to show up results before approaching for further care and guidelines of cure.
