Does Treated Lung TB Lead To Breathing Problems?

Hello Doctor

I was suffering from pleural effussion of my left lung and it was diagonised with lung tb.Water was removed by thoracentisis and treatment started with medicnal chemotherapy.AKT 4 (Rifampicin,Enthambutol,Isoniazid and Pyrizinimide).After four months Pyrizinamide was removed.Now i am in the fifth month with AKT 3.meanwhile regular x rays were taken monthly .On the first month x rays showed good improvement.But thereafter till date the xray to me seemed same.Doctor says that scar tissues have developed it is healing.I have gained weight but do still have breathing problems.Do scar tissues or fibrosis as the Doc says is inevitable.Does it cause breathing problems

I can understand your concern.
Yes, scar tissue development is inevitable. But no need to worry for this because it is inactive, healed lesion.
These scar tissues directly don't cause breathlessness.
But they cause inflammatory reaction in lungs known as bronchitis.
And this bronchitis can cause breathlessness.
So better to get done PFT (Pulmonary Function Test).
This is needed for the diagnosis of bronchitis. It will also tell you about severity of the disease.
And treatment of bronchitis is based on severity only.
You may need inhaled bronchodilators and inhaled corticosteroid.
So don't worry, you will be alright.
