General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Renal tuberculosis will present with various symptoms as:
- chronic low grade fever
- pyuria and WBC cast with mycobacterium in urine culture
- recurrent urinary tract infection
- weight loss and loss of appetite
- slowly rising creatinine levels
- cachexia once there is raised levels of tumor necrosis factor alpha
So far as days of AKT is concerned, it is according to the WHO guidelines of management of extra pulmonary tuberculosis and it ranges from 1 to 2 years, and better to be discussed with the treating physician only.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
