Does Turmeric Help In The Treatment Of Inflammation On The Fingers?

Can I safely double my dosage of Turmeric to help ease the inflamation in my finger joints? I take a 1300 mg supplement once a day. Thinking of doing that twice a day. I hate to waste the pills if my body just can t metabolize more than 1300 mg/day...
