Hello and welcome to HCM,
Lymph nodes in the groin, armpit and neck are unlikely to be associated with
typhoid fever or the medication given for it.
The lymph nodes in the groin, armpit and neck have to investigated.
Aspiration cytology of these enlarged lymph nodes is required.
In aspiration cytology, cells are aspirated from the swelling with the help of a needle, spread on a slide and stained with appropriate stain.
The stained cells are studied microscopically to know the nature of the lymph node enlargement.
Infections are most common cause of isolated lymph node enlargement.
Generalized lymph node enlargements are less common in infections and more common in neoplasms.
However, infections can also cause generalized
lymphadenopathy.
Diagnosis can only be made after investigations.
Thanks and take care
