Does Use Of Insulin Pen Cause Thyroid And Throat Cancer?

My Mom is on a diabetic medicine that comes in pen form, cannot think of name right now. However, a lot has been published about the fact that it may cause thyroid and throat cancer. My Mom does not want to take this drug any longer. She also takes Glimporide. Any opinion on this pen med?
