Does Use Of Turmeric For Joint Pain Give Positive Results?

My doctor recently recommended Turmeric for join pain relief and Ginkgo Biloba for memory loss. From reading on line I am not sure there is enough evidence to indicate their positive impacts. Also, I am concerned about drug interactions with my daily aspirin (80mg), lovastatin (40 mg) and occasional ibuprofen for join related pain. Finally, how do I determine the best companies to buy supplements from. Thank you YYYY@YYYY (Ann)

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Turmeric has antioxidants properties. You can use it on daily basis. It does not cause any interaction with your daily medications like tablet Aspirin. It has many medicinal properties but not sure about joint pain relief. Kindly consult with your physician for details.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shyam B. Kale,
