Does Using Nail Polish Remover During Pregnancy Harm The Fetus?

I was removing nail polish while my hand was on my thigh. I rubbed the polish into my leg while doing this. I stopped because I am pregnant [20 weeks). I did it for about a minute. I never use remover. What kind of long term affects do you think this will have on my baby? I was so careless. Do you think the fat absorbed it instead of blood?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Nail polish remover is not absorbed by the skin or fat, and hence there is nothing to worry about any harm on the fetus.

Hope you found the answer helpful.
