Does Vaginal Hysterectomy And Cervix Removal Adversely Affect One’s Sex Life?

Hi. I have uterine fibroids and my doctor recommended vaginal hysterectomy with removal of cervix ( keeping the ovaries ) I am concerned about removal of cervix, reading all these stories online about changing in sexlife or shortening of vagina . is it true ? thank you, sofia

Hi, I think removing uterus and cervix will not affect the sex life. It depends on the length of vaginal cuff remaining. So, better to talk regarding this with the operating surgeon and share your thoughts. It can be taken care of during surgery to remove lesser length of vagina so that an adequate length of vagina remains. Hope it helps.
