Does Varicose Veins Cause Itching?

I have what looks like varicose veins at the back of my knee and now it looks like there is a red area over them that itches - just a coincidence or are the varicose veins causing this

Yes, varicose veins can be the cause of itching, dermatitis, non healing ulcers and even haemorrhage.In varicose veins walls become weak,fragile.There is oozing of blood.Blood itself is irritant due to the presence of iron.So there is itching.
