Does Wearing A Brace Reduce Sharp Pain In The Hand?

So last year I broke my hand, I’m still having problems with it like movement and sharp pains throughout my hand. I never put a cast on it because I would’ve lost my job. Also not having insurance. Would a brace on it now still help or should I seek professional help

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It would be best to seek professional help. The hand would need imaging (an x-ray) to determine the current state. Physiotherapy may be needed to improve function.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James
