Does Wearing A Patch Over Good Eye Make The Weaker Eye Strong?

hi-my daughter is 5 years old....went to the eye doctor today...one eye is 20/20 the other eye is 20/30(couple weeks ago it was 20/40)..he is going to check her again in about a month...i was wondering would it be a good idea for her to wear a patch over the good eye a couple hrs a day so the weaker eye can get stronger--so she wont have to wear glasses

patch treatment is advised if she is developing amblyopia. this should be done with advise of doctor. this is an orthoptic treatment is to follow up the revival of vision and improvement so that duration can be decided keeping watch is part of treatment.
