Does Wearing Glasses With Cylindrical Power Affect Eyesight In Children?
Hi, My child is 7 and has myopia. We have prescriptions from two optometrists. One says -1.25 with 0.25 cylinder in one eye and -2.5 in the other eye. The other optometrist said -1.5 in one eye and -2.5 in the other eye. Does giving a cylindrical power do children have any negative effects? And which prescription should we go with?

Hi, i do care for your concern.
Correcting for cylindrical power should also be done.
I would advise to go with first one as you should include the cylindrical power also.
Do wear the spectacles for most of the times as this will help to stabilize the power and to maintain in same range, thus lasix in future can be done.
