Dog Scratched Lip Now Looks Like A Cold Sore. What It Can Be ?

when playing with my dog she accidentally scratched my bottom lip. at the time it welted up a little, two days later it is tingling and looks like it may turn into a cold sore which I typcally do not get. should i treat it like a cold sore or could something else be going on?

A dog scratch might lead to cellulitis which could cause the tingling sensation in the lip. Amox with clavulanic acid tablets for 5 days is the ideal treatment. You could also get yourself a tetanus shot if not received in past. Watch for fever and further blackening of the scratch.
