Done Birth Control Implant On Arms. Have Non Stop Spotting, Heavy Bleeding. Cause For Concern?
Hello Dr., I decided to have the birth control implant on my arms three months ago. Since I had the procedure I spotted for 5-6 weeks nonstop. Then the spotting stopped for two weeks, after that I started having heavier bleeding which I believe it's my period. I understand that most women will experience spotting but I just want to find out if I should be worried. Thank you

HI, Menstrual irregularities are common with birth control implants. This is due to hormones in the implant. It may be spotting/ irregular/ heavy bleeding/no periods. It may take a six months time, till body gets adjusted to the product. PLease get a doctor's consultation, if the problem continues. Thanks..
