Done Blood Test For Fever And Body Pain. Any Concerns?
Hi Sir, My wife was suffering from mild fever and body pains from past one week and were adviced to take Complete Blood Picture...Can you please explain, if there is any concern with the report? here are the details... Haemoglobin - 9.3 Total RBC Count - 5.02 Total WBC Count - 5,000 RBC: Anisocytosis (++), Microcytic Hypochromic with ovalocytes, pencil forms, target cells and erythrocytosis. WBC: Normal in morphology, maturity and distribution Platelets: Adequate Remarks: No abnormal cells or haemoparasites seen.
Hi, Welcome to HCM. No infection is detected by this report. The blood report seems to be normal except for the hemoglobin level which seems to be in the lower range indicating anemia. Red blood cells have a morphology which is indicating iron deficiency anemia. This is due to decreased iron levels in the body. Iron rich foods like dates, jaggery, green leafy vegetables and fruits need to be included in the daily diet regimen. I suggest to allow her to recover from her present illness for now. Then after complete recovery I suggest she take iron supplements like Syrup Orofer 2 tsp twice daily for 1 month. Thanks.
