Dose Unprotected Sex Cause Pregnancy?

Hi, I m a girl of 24years. I was supposed to have periods 6 days before. There isn t any signs of periods. I had sex with my finance 3weeks before. Though he is sure that he didn t ejaculate inside, now I m very much concerned. Is this just a normal delay? How can I check whether I m pregnant or not. Can I get pregnancy test kit from medical shops and is it trustworthy? Pls answer. And if I m pregnant how can I abort. Pls answer. Awaiting a reply. Thanks!

Hi,
I understand your query.
You are already delaed period by a week, & you had unprotected sex 3 weeks back- that comes possibly around ovulation . So possibility of conception is there.
If you get suspect pregnancy, you should go for blood HCG test - around your expected day of menses- This is a laboratory test & is 100% reliable.
OR
Home pregnacy test kit (Velocit) is available with chemist & can be done at home using fresh urine sample. This test is sensitive after 8-10 days of delayed period It is reliable provided urine sample is collected with care , not to contaminate it ( washing clean the vaginal part before colloction/ using a boiled glass bottle to collect it/ collecting mid stream urine)
- If test is +ve- you have two options for termination-medical termination/ suction evacuation.Please consult a gynecologist who will advise/guide for suitable method that suits your health.
