Drained Mucus Cyst On Bottom Of Lip. Will It Come Back?

Hi I have a Mucous Cyst on the bottom of my lip, today it popped & all this weird clear & gooey liquid came out, I drained the cyst for a good while & the HUGE bump on my lip totally disappeared. I orignally got it because I bit my lip about 5 times on the same spot while eating, but now that the swelling is gone & I completely drained it the question is...will it come back?

Hello there....Mucous cyst is a result of trauma anywhere on the mucosa of lower lip, tongue ,buccal region. Its filled with mucous material that grows in size when not removed. The cyst needs to be removed completely without spillage of the material . As remnants of fluid or epithelial lining persists there are always chances for this cyst to recur. In case of future recurrence consult a Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon for further management.
