During Second Trimester Ultrasound Could Shaking Of Abdomen Have Harmed The Baby?
Hi I'm 20 weeks pregnant and just had my ultrasound yesterday this is my 5 th child but when I had the ultrasound the sonographer was shaking my stomach to get baby to move. Im not sure about this because it hasn't happened before. Is my baby still safe from this or couldhave it harmed my baby?? Thanks
No. Such trivial things do not harm the child. It is probable that the sonographer could not see the foetal movements properly. If the foetus is asleep, it happens so. So probably he was trying to wake up the child. Also sometimes, sonographers want to see the effect of external stimuli on the foetus and hence they may give such external stimuli. Please do not worry, have a faith in your doctor. This will not harm your baby.
