Ear, Nose & Throat Question: I Went To The Doctor

Ear, Nose & Throat Question:
I went to the doctor 1 year ago with sinus congestion, sudden hearing loss. This was 1 week after finding I had an infected tooth needing a root canal. My diagnosis was viral related and to use Flonase and over the counter allergy medication. A month later I saw an ENT and was given a 2 week Prednisone. My hearing cleared up, however within another month it began to diminish again. A second visit to the ENT recently and still no answers except use over counter allergy and use the neti pot, then come back in one month.
Currently my hearing seems to be great for a few days and then less on others. Don't want to keep visiting the ENT without clarification of my problem. Should I just visit a hearing aid professional?
