Ear And Throat Pain, Throat Congestion. Is This Eagle's Syndrome? CT Scan Showing Glossopharyngeal Neuralgia. Need To Get Syloid Size Checked?
Hi, I've had constant left ear pain, dull to sometimes burning throat pain on left side, and the feeling at times that something is stuck in my throat at the top left side. Sounded exactly like Eagle's syndrome but my soft tissue ct scan said styloid bone is 2.2 only. Dr thinks it could be glossylpharyngeal neuralgia, but my pain is constant, not intermittent. This has gone on for a month and has been an aggravation to my life. Could it be glossylpharyngeal neuralgia? Should I insist on a 3-d or lateral x ray to be sure of my styloid measurement?
Hello ,
eagles syndrome is thwe last diagnosis we keep for such throat pain as even enlarged styloids in many patients do not trouble them . its not the matter of size.
It can be glossophayngeal neuraligia.
But i would suggest you to take care of reflux disease whether you feel it or not.
ie heart burn /acidity especially if you snore at night.
Take precautions----
Take frequent meals
Do not do binge eating
avoid smoking and alcohol
take antacid syrups
Go for walk daily in morning and after dinner.
Need to do lifestyle modifications
Try this for 15 days then see for pain and then get back to us.
