Hi, I am 40 years old and have been using otrivin for the last 5 years or so. I always have blocked nose in one or both the nostrils and am using saline sprays and nasonex now for the last 3 weeks. Nasones does not seem to work at all, but my ENT has asked me to persist with it. In the meanwhile i have also got my left ear operated for grommet insertion bcos of ear pressure problem, and my right ear as per the ENT is hypermobile, and i constantly hear clicking sounds and popping sounds throught out the day specially when my jaw moves, I yawn or swallow etc. The ENT says this may stay like this, there is no liquid in my inner ear and I may have to live with this. I also have nasal polyp, deviated nasal setpum and most probably hypertrophied turbinates because of over use of otrivin. I have also started doing yoga, i.e. pranayam, i.e. breathing exercises a little when my nose is unblocked, and walking for 45-60 minutes every day for the last week. All this is verry verry annoying, and discomforting as I get distressed, have lot ofr anxiety, and am unable to focus elsewhere and my work is suffering quite a bit. Start having negative thoughts and have started to stay aloof. Have stopped enjoying life because of all these problems. Please advise the best course of action to get rid of otrivin, can one get cured without coblation of turbinates or setoplasty. I do not want to get another surgery done as I earlier rushed into grommet insertion for my left ear so soon. Is there anything else that can be done to expedite my treatment. If i persist with saline spray, and nasonex, can I improve in sime time? I am very tensed, will appreciate answers....thanks
