Ear Popped, Strange Hearing, Everything Sounds Loud And Echoing. Treatment?

Hi, You know when your ear sort of pops, and then everything sounds a little strange for a while after. It usually wears off after a few minutes. Well mine popped, but the slightly strange hearing you have for a while after, has lasted for two days. Everything sounds loud and echoing. As if you had your hand cupped over your ear. And occasionally over the two days, it feels like it is working it s way out again. (Similar to the feeling when you get water in your ear during a shower, and later on it finds it s way out. Although I didn t get this feeling in the first place due to water in my ear)

Thanks for your query

The ear gets popped feeling when the eustachian tubes are blocked.It occurs when there is pressure difference between internal ear and external ear.You can get feeling almost like that when your external auditory canal is blocked by water or wax .

Are you having common cold or sinusitis ? these condition can lead to such feeling.

Get a check up from an ENT specialist. get your external auditory canal cleared of wax if its blocked by excessive wax. Treat your sinusitis or upper respiratory tract infection if present .Do the audiometric tests as advised by your doctor. Get a CT scan done to see if any pathology is there in your ear .

A common way to open the closed eustachian tube is to try to blow with your mouth closed .. it increases the pressure and opens the eustachian tube.
