Early Epidymitis And Taking Doxycycline. No Relief From Pain. Consult Doctor For Change Of Prescription?
Hi I went to the doctor and said I had a early epipdymitis because I wasn't tender. I've been taking doxycycline and it's been getting better because the pain hasn't been as consistent. I'm on my last 4 pills and I still feel pain at times, should I go back to the doctor and ask for another prescription refill ? I also don't have insurance so it's quite expensive
HI Thank for choosing HCM, I am really feel pity for you because, Doxycycline is a anti-biotic drug and not analgesic it wont relieve the pain, Epididymitis rarely having infection, most of the time it is just inflammatory process, could be because of compression, uneven pressure, friction, any anti-inflammatory drug will relieve the inflammation, take care, Have nice day. (Immobilize the scrotum will also reduce the pain and inflammation)
the infection gos slowly you can take for other 2 week and also apply local anti inflamatory ointment on area bd and add anti inflamatory tab bd for few days till it subsides if no result after 3 week then you should consult again the doctor
Hi, As you feel better with current antibiotic course, continue till full course. After completion of medicine if you have little problem, continue few days more. Ok and take care.
