Early Period, Spotting, Tender Breasts. Should I Be Concerned?

Hello, I keep track of my periods and this month something weird is happening. I got my period on the 13th exactly when I was suppose to and now last night I started spotting. Ive never had a 18 day cycle begore usually its 28-31 cycle. My breasts have been tender and sore and I've been having mild cramps here and there the past week. I read that I might have ovulational spotting but I've never had it in the 14 years of having my period. Should I be worried?

hello,

Following ovulation, spotting may occur and it is quite physiological. Other reasons are stress, hormonal imbalance, vaginal or pelvic infection, irregular diet pattern, more exercise or change in weight.

If you are sexually active, then suspicion of pregnancy needs to be ruled out by home pregnancy test after next missed period. You can consult with gynecologist for overall health check up including pelvic examination. Relevant investigations may be required.

Take healthy diet, avoid stress, wear tight breast support, maintain genital hygiene and take sound sleep. Be well.
