Echo Shows Slight Calcification On Valves, Increased Leg Pain And Edema. Diabetic, Take Metformin, Ibuprofen. Solution ?

I am 56 yer old male in New Zealand. I had RHD at the age of 11 that damaged my mitral valve and had mv STENOSIS FROM THE AGE OF 12. At 26 I had mitral valvotomy. There is hardly any residual murmur but ECO shows slight calcification on the valves. Angio done in 2011 shows normal coronary arteries. For 3 weeks now, I have left lower leg pain and edema that is now increasing. Even resting does not give relief. I take Ibuprofen 400 mg for pain. I am also diebetic and on Metformin 500 bd. I also on ace inhibiters. What should. Last hospital admission showed ecg no significant change. What shall I do?

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
As you were the patient of Rheumatoid arthritis , that is past as , now after mitral valvotomy murmurs are normal with no abnormality in ECHO and ecg.
Now main concern is pain in leg ( left) & edema.
Since you are a diabetic patient and taking metfomine 500 mg with ace inhibitors i.e. anti hyper tensive.
Now try to understand , you are diabetic, hypertensive , pain in leg with edema.
May be due to heart or kidney involvement ( r a has nothing to do with this ).
--Due to thrombosis may be edema & pain.
- Peripheral neuropathy.
Consult a Diabetologist / physician and get their opinion.
Good luck.
