Elongated Welt On Buttock. Any Tips On What It Is? Should I Be Worried About It?

My husband noticed an elongated welt on his buttock this morning and is quite puzzled about what it could be! It is pink and smooth - only way I can think to describe it is that it looks like a weld bead. It's about an inch long and maybe 1/4 inch wide. Any tips on what he should look for to determine if it's something worth worrying about?

Hi and welcome to HCM.
If you noticed this suddenly than it can be insect bite or you just sit on something. If this is there for some time then it can be any subcutaneous lesion such as abscess, lipoma, fibroma etc. The most important is to evaluate is this infalmmated or not. If there is no redness around it and this isnt painful then you dnt have to worry just wait and see will it progress in size and shape. If you notice some of these signs then visit doctor. Wish you good health.
